Discover Chilling True Ghost Stories and Shocking History on The Haunted Bay's SF Ghost Tour- Ground Zero of where it all started.

Updated: Jun 27

The Haunted Bay's SF Ghost Tours takes you to where we filmed paranormal investigations. We discovered chilling ghost stories and shocking history in North Beach and Chinatown, the oldest parts of San Francisco where ghosts of Native Americans, criminals and former SF residents still haunt the streets and establishments. My name is Ying and I'm the producer of The Haunted Bay series on Amazon Prime. I went from business to business asking the employees if they had any ghost stories. Many did and they welcomed us to film paranormal investigations with The Alameda Paranormal Researchers (APR) and psychic medium/author June Ahern.

We filmed APR in a former Old West dancehall where ghosts of former dancers and drug addicts came through. APR members saw shadow figures and witnessed their cameras being moved. A full body apparition of a woman in red appeared to one of the investigators. Something pulled our cameraman's shirt.

In the famous, Condor Club, the oldest strip club in the world and the site of one of San Francisco's most bizarre deaths, APR captured orbs, felt touched by invisible hands and psychic medium June Ahern, saw spirits of former dancers and members of the mob. I saw a spirit of a Latina woman from the 1800s.

The Great Star Theater in Chinatown, one of the oldest theaters in San Francisco, was teeming with ghosts of former Chinese opera singers, gangsters and victims of crime. I will tell you how I had my own encounter with a ghost in the theater and she stayed connected to me for several years. This beautiful historic venue brings joy and magical performances, but in the dark at night, when all is quiet, you can hear and see the ghosts still singing or moving through the theater. Former Chinatown residents joined our tour and revealed their own frightening ghost encounters. You will see where they had their paranormal experiences.

We discovered that even some streets were haunted by ghosts. While researching for The Haunted Bay series, we found that several of these haunted locations were in the former Barbary Coast, once the most dangerous red light district in America, where criminals ran rampant. Drug use, prostitution, kidnappings and robberies were commonplace. There were an average of two murders everyday. Chinatown was also filled with gangsters and crime with street battles, opium dens and human trafficking. Many of the tragic stories we found were portrayed in the popular series Warrior. This dark energy still infuses what are now safe and quiet areas. When the lights go dark, ghosts of the Gold Rush and beyond come out.
